The world will tell you: “If it feels right, it must be right.”
The Truth is: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9
You’ll want to stay mad.
You’ll want to block them.
You’ll want to make them feel what you felt.
You’ll want to protect your ego.
You’ll want to be right.
And God will say:
“Forgive.”
“Let go.”
“Say sorry.”
“Be still.”
“Obey Me.”
The world gasses up your pride.
Your flesh backs it up.
The enemy claps for it.
But none of them care about your soul.
Obedience is war. Not against the world. Not against them. But against you. Your impulses. Your feelings. Your need to be in control.
The world will lie: “You’ve got time.” “You deserve better.” “They don’t deserve your grace.” “Do what makes sense to you.”
God doesn’t need it to make sense. He needs your “yes.”
You think obedience is about sacrifice. But it’s about freedom.
Obedience is how you break the cycle. It’s how you stop being stuck. It’s how you walk out of fake healing and into real peace.
God isn’t asking you to feel like it. He’s asking you to trust Him anyway.
To obey even when it’s uncomfortable. Even when it hurts your pride. Even when your emotions are louder than truth.
You want a breakthrough? Start with obedience.
You’re not meant to be led by feelings. You’re meant to be led by the Spirit. And the Spirit always leads you closer to Jesus. Not deeper into yourself.
You can’t heal while holding onto the habits He told you to let go of.
What to Do Today:
Interrupt the pattern. Do one small thing today that goes against what your pride wants but aligns with what obedience looks like,
even if it’s just sending a text you didn’t feel like sending.
Check your motivation. Think about the last time you “followed your heart.” Was it led by emotion or by truth? Write it down. Ask yourself what obedience would’ve looked like instead.
Pray: “God, I don’t want to be led by my feelings. I want to be led by You. Teach me how to obey when it’s uncomfortable. Kill my pride before it kills my peace. You’re Lord over my
emotions not the other way around.”
